This is one of four circular pieces from a set I call My Grief. On its surface, soft concentric rings encircle a stained flower. The glaze has crackled, delicately and deliberately, marking the surface with the kind of fine lines that remind me of what slowly shows over time - the weight of what's been held in for too long.
This piece holds the tenderness of grief I didn't always know how to name. It speaks to the ache of silence, the longing to be seen, and the quiet resilience of something that still tries to bloom though it has been stained.
